What do you see when you look in the mirror? By Joseph Prince

    Dear ____________,

When you look in the mirror, what comes to your mind?

Do you focus on your flaws...or do you focus on your beauty? Are you more conscious of your blemishes...or do you see perfection?

I ask this because most people are conscious of what they consider to be their imperfections, blemishes and shortcomings. When they look in a mirror, or when they see a picture of themselves, the first things they notice are their flaws!

I want to encourage you to see yourself as God sees you-both physically and spiritually.

Did you know that when God first made man, He crowned man with "glory and honor" (Psalm 8:5)?

But when Adam sinned against God, the glory left him. From then on, the devil could bring sin, sickness and poverty to rule over man.

Beloved, I have good news for you today. As a believer in Christ, God's glory has been restored to you.

That is why today when God looks at you in Christ, He sees you altogether beautiful and He says there is no flaw in you (see Song of Solomon 4:7).

The Bible is very clear that Jesus came to bring you back to glory. Hebrews 2:9-10 says:

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone. For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory...
    (emphasis added)

Be conscious of this today: Because of the finished work of Jesus Christ, you have been crowned with glory and honor once again!

When you walk into a room, God's glory on you will cause your presence to light up the room. If you need to build relationships, God's glory on you will cause people to be drawn to you and favor you. If you are sick, God's glory on you will swallow up the disease or virus.

Expect to have dominion and reign in this life-over every depression, sickness and defeat.

Now, you must be wondering, if every believer is already crowned with glory, why is it not made manifest in every believer's life?

Here is what I believe is your answer...

Many Christians today are living life more conscious of their sins and setbacks than of their righteousness in Christ Jesus. And even though they have been crowned with glory and honor, they are still living with sickness, depression, lack, worry and stress.

I've experienced this in my own life.

Some years ago, I had a sharp pain in my lower back. I would have to get up often and walk around because if I sat down for an extended period of time, I would be in great discomfort and pain.

I went to see a doctor, and he told me the pain was a result of aging. He said that as the years go by the pads between the vertebrae would naturally deteriorate, causing pain. He told me, "There is no solution. It can only get worse."

During moments like that, we are so conscious of the natural-our age, our normal life span, daily aches and pains.

But I went back and listened to messages that I preached in my church (even as a preacher, I need to remind myself of God's amazing goodness and grace!), and the Lord started to remind me of the finished work. I began to see once again that at the cross, Jesus restored to us all the glory that Adam forfeited.

Immediately, I went to partake of the Holy Communion and looked to Jesus. As I shifted my consciousness from my pain to how Jesus bore all the stripes for me at the cross, the pain left. Today, I no longer suffer from that condition. I no longer experience that discomfort or pain.

I believe that you too can experience a similar manifestation of God's glory on your life!

And it has got to do with what you are conscious of. The more conscious you are of Jesus and what He has done for you on Calvary, the more you will experience the glory and honor He freely gives you!

Determine right now that you are going to live conscious of Jesus, choosing to believe who you are and what you have been given through Him.

God desires for you to be healthy and whole. He does not want you to give weight to disease, debt or lack. Instead, He wants you to be conscious of divine blessings, divine health, divine provision, divine wisdom-every good thing in Christ.

The more you hear the truths of God's Word, the more you'll give weight to God's promises in your life, and the more you'll find your miracles come to pass!

Remember, God has crowned you with glory and honor. When you look in the mirror, look past the flaws and faults. See the person God sees, and live with confidence knowing you are accepted and approved in His sight.

    In His grace,

    P.S.
Whatever you are most conscious of will manifest in your life. When you know who you are in Christ and what you have been given through His finished work, you live life differently. You live with a quiet and steady confidence knowing you have been given all power and authority in Christ Jesus.
